See our class schedule

You must bring your New Jersey Online Course Completion Certificate and a photo identification (such as your driver's license or school ID) with you. You will not be permitted to take the New Jersey In-Person Boating Exam without presenting your Course Completion Certificate and a photo ID.

Students should arrive 90 minutes before the end of class (weekends: 3-4:30pm*, weeknights: 8-9:30pm*).  Students will have time to complete the required NJSP paperwork, hear a review, and take a 60-question multiple-choice test.  We'll grade it right there and with a score of 80 or better, students will leave with a temporary boating safety certificate, and receive their NJSP issued card and NASBLA card in the mail a few weeks later.  The NASBLA card, when presented with the NJ Boat Safety Certificate, may be required when operating a vessel outside of New Jersey.  The temporary certificate is valid for one year.

On-line students will take the exam at the same time as our  “In--person” students
Payment of $40 cash or check payable to Boat Safe US, LLC  required upon entrance to proctored exam. Pre-payment for proctored exam is not available.  Note: exams are NOT given on the 1st night of a 2 night class.
